Jill Swensen, AIA, LEED AP, has taken on the role as principal and studio leader in SmithGroup’s Pittsburgh office. Swensen brings over 20 years of experience as an architect specializing in programming, planning, and management of complex environments.
Construction Continues on Fulton Market’s 19-Story Office Building
The construction buzz in Fulton Market, a mixed-use district in Chicago, marches on with a 19-story office tower. Developers held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project last week, although construction on the building’s foundation has been underway for several weeks. Chicago-based architectural firm, Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill (SOM), designed the 450,000 square-foot building. The tower will feature X-shaped steel cross-braces with underground parking and landscaped terraces.
