City in Idaho Reevaluating Bloated $41.18 Million Budget for New Police Station

Before the city of Idaho Falls, Idaho can hope to begin work on building a new police station by the end of 2020, they will first reevaluate the project’s budget. The current $41.18 million estimate for the construction costs of the new two-story building is considerably higher than the initial ~$20 million estimate given when the project was approved earlier in 2020. The city is pursuing the building’s construction in order to consolidate police functions under one roof.

Crews Make Progress on Office Building Conversion in Tulsa

Construction crews are making headway on the conversion of an old office building into a luxury residential space in Tulsa, Okla. Once complete in 2021 or 2022, the project will yield an unspecified amount of rentable units coupled with a variety of residential amenities including a swimming pool and a fitness center. The project’s lead developer, Colorado-based TAG Multifamily, LLC, has not given any indication what the conversion’s estimated costs or completion timeline looks like.


Adena Health Systems Halfway Complete with $70 Million Surgery Center

Adena Health Systems, an Ohio-based healthcare provider network, has marked the halfway point of its newest medical facility in Chillicothe, Ohio. The building, dubbed The Orthopedic and Robotic Surgery Facility, will boast 80 clinical exam suites, six operation rooms, a 20-bed inpatient recovery unit, and 22 pre-and-post-recovery bays. Construction will cost an estimated $70 million and is expected to wrap up in spring 2021.


Town in South Carolina to Weigh Constructing New Office Building

The Design Review Board of Mount Pleasant, S.C. has said they will soon meet to discuss constructing a new office building in the city. If allowed to proceed, Charleston-based real estate developer Four 17 Partners will construct a four-story office building with 3,400 square-feet of rentable space. The firm expects constructing would wrap up at the end fo 2021, though they didn’t reveal the estimated costs.

County Officials in Kansas Consider Economic Impact of Building $30 Million New Church

County officials of Pottawatomie County, Kan., are conducting an economic impact analysis of a new $30 million church building that is slated for construction in St. Mary’s, Kan. The church, spearheaded by the Society of St. Pius X Catholic Church, is being constructed to meet expected demand arising from more people moving into the area.
