St. Jude is Constructing a New $13.4 Million Laboratory Resource Center in Memphis

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is in the midst of constructing a new $13.4 million laboratory resource center in Memphis, Tenn. When it is finished in July 2020, the new 300,000 square-foot space will be able to accommodate several dozen labs, including the Hartwell Center for Biotechnology and the hospital’s protein production facility.

Calvano Development Begins Construction on 23,000 SF Office Space

Calvano Development, a San Francisco-based development firm, has launched the construction of a new 23,000 square-foot office project in Mountain View, Calif. The project, which has an unknown estimated cost or completion date, is intended to cater to smaller companies who still desire to have access to the amenities offered by the types of office spaces traditionally occupied by larger firms.

Construction Begins on 120,000 SF Office Space in Downtown Austin

B&Z Development, a Jacksonville, Fla.-based development firm, has begun construction on a 120,000 square-foot office space in the heart of downtown Austin. The five-story space is expected to be completed in 2021, with an unknown estimated cost. The project will feature underground parking with spaces for 296 vehicles, an unspecified amount of ground-floor retail space, and a rooftop deck.

University of Illinois Proposes $191 Million Outpatient Facility in Chicago

The University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System has filed an application to construct a $191 million outpatient facility on its Near West Side campus in Chicago. The six-story building would include a surgical suite with eight rooms, as well as space for an imaging department with an MRI unit. The plan’s proposal states that the 20,000 square-foot building could break ground in August and be completed by 2022. The project will be voted on for approval in April.

NAI James E. Hanson Sells 20,000 SF Industrial Building in New Jersey

NAI James E. Hanson, a New Jersey-based commercial real estate agency, has announced its sale of a 20,000 square-foot industrial facility in South Hackensack, N.J. The property is a flexible space, with 17,500 square-feet of industrial space and 2,500 square-feet of office space. The site’s purchase price is currently unknown.
