University of Montevallo Adds Business School Building

The University of Montevallo, based in Montevallo, Ala., is finishing construction on the new building which will help their business school exand. The new state-of-the-art facility will feature a large student commons and event space, classrooms, study rooms, professional development spaces and a boardroom. The $4 million building took just under one year to construct.

Fort Wayne City Council OKs Final Funding for Developments

Funding has been approved for the construction of two mixed-use buildings in downtown Fort Wayne, IN. The Lofts at Headwaters Park and the Riverfront at Promenade Park together will boast 439 apartments, 22 townhomes, 24,000 square feet of office space, 14,000 square feet of retail space, and 12,000 square feet of commercial space. These buildings will cost a total of $150 million, and are estimated to be completed in 2023.


New $83 Million School Buildings Being Debated in Ohio

City leaders in Tiffin, Ohio met with local school board officials to formulate a series of bonds aimed at constructing new buildings within the school district. The bonds would ultimately serve to raise $83 million for the construction of a new Pre-K-6 school as well as an addition for the local junior high and high school.

New 110,000 SF Hotel Planned for Construction in Greensboro

Construction will begin on a new 110,000 square foot hotel in Greensboro, N.C. by the end of 2020. Although the hotel was originally planned as a six-story building, the owner of The Caroll Cos., Roy Carroll, announced that it will be 12-stories tall once it is completed. According to Carroll, the upper floors will be able to see Virginian mountains in the distance.

$1 Billion Project Planned for Former Chicago Spire Site

Two apartment buildings are set to be built in Chicago that will be 875 feet tall and 765 feet tall, respectively. Together, these skyscrapers will house a total of 1,100 apartments. Related Midwest, a Chicago-based real estate developer heading the project, will begin the construction of the north tower early in 2021, with the building expected to be completed by 2024. Following the construction of the taller north tower, they will proceed with construction on the shorter south tower, which has an estimated completion date of 2027.
