Smithsonian Institute Acquires Office Space in DC
The Smithsonian Institution, a national network of museums and research facilities headquartered in Washington, D.C. has acquired a majority stake in a office campus in southwest Washington, D.C. The firm purchased 14 stories of 18 available stories of office space for $253.7 million.
Raleigh Developers Plan Large Mixed-Use Property
SLI Capital and Atlas Stark, two Raleigh-based real estate development and construction firms, have partnered together to complete a new mixed-use project near the city’s Five Points neighborhood. Once completed, the project will yield 475 residential units and 300,000 square-feet of commercial space. The project’s estimated construction cost and completion date are both unknown.
Sarasota Christian School Breaks Ground on New Building
Ground has been broken on a new upper elementary school building at Sarasota Christian School in Sarasota, Fla. The new building will include eight classrooms and restrooms and is being constructed to handle the school’s swelling enrollment size. Neither the building’s estimated construction cost nor its estimated completion timeline are known.
Texas Manufacturer Plans Construction of a $9.3 Million Facility in Kentucky
CSAT Solutions LP, a Houston-based repair services firm, has decided to invest heavily in the town of Shepherdsville, Ken. The company intends to spend $9.3 million to construct a new repair facility in the city which is expected to create up to 258 jobs one year post completion. The project’s estimated completion date is currently unknown.
Construction Begins on New $550 Million Flames Arena in Calgary
Construction has begun on the new events center in Calgary, Alberta that will also serve as the new home for the Calgary Flames NHL team. Once completed, the new $550 million facility will feature an area with up to 19,000 seats. The project is expected to be completed in 2024.
