Georgia Investment Company Buys Three Dallas Office Buildings for $400 Million
Piedmont Office Realty Trust (PORT), a Georgia-based real estate investment trust company, has completed a $400 million purchase of three office towers in Far North Dallas. The three buildings have a total of 1.4 million-square-feet of office space. Each office tower is between 24 and 26 stories tall, with each having between a 90% and 100% lease rate.
Developer Files Plans for 10-Story Mixed-Use Building in Queens
A private developer has filed plans with Long Island City’s Department of Buildings to develop a 10-story, mixed-use building on a parcel of land in the Dutch Kills neighborhood. The building would contain 33,375 square-feet of commercial space, 10,048 square-feet of medical offices, and a parking garage.
University of Utah Will Build New $13.8 Million Public Safety Building
The University of Utah is planning to construct a new $13.8 million public safety building. The one-story building will contain a community room, evidence storage, a training area, an investigation area, and a fitness area spread across 25,000 square-feet. The building’s estimated construction timeline is currently unknown.
Ground Breaks on New $21 Million Rehab Hospital in Arkansas
Ground has been broken ground on a new 52,967 square-foot rehabilitation hospital in Chaffee Crossing, Ark. The new 40-bed hospital, which will cost approximately $21 million to build, will treat adults suffering from neurological issues and will feature private dining, multiple gyms, transitional living apartments, and a courtyard. The new hospital is expected to open in April 2021.
Work Expected to Begin at New $108 Million Connecticut High School
Work will soon begin on the $108 million reconstruction and expansion of New London High School in New London, Conn. The new facility will feature a dramatically increased footprint, with a total of 290,765 square-feet. The project, which is a part of a greater $168 million project, is expected to be completed by fall 2023.
