$500,000 in Grants Offered by ODNR to Improve Boating Access
In an effort to improve boating access across the state, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Parks and Watercraft is offering $500,000 in grants. Applicants leading a single project can request up to $75,000 during the grant period, between May 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.
Illinois Officials to Request $2.5 Million Grant for Parks and Rec Renovations
The Des Plaines Park District staff prepares to submit a grant application for $2.5 million. The grant would be used to renovate Arndt Park, parks and recreation facility in Des Plaines, Ill. If approved, the funds would only cover a portion of the $6 million project total.
Local Renovation Company Purchases Multifamily Buildings
Three multifamily buildings in Marlborough, Mass. have sold for $1.7 million, $600,000 more than their previously assessed value by the City of Marlborough. Located on the western edge of downtown, each building’s price-per-unit was approximately $113,000. Two of the properties were purchased by Marc Resnick, owner of a Boston-based renovation firm, The Beantown Companies.
Bonnie Doon and Jasper Place Renovations Complete
With renovations finally complete, Edmonton residents will be able to enjoy two pools later this winter. The Bonnie Doon and Jasper Place pools in Edmonton, Alberta were slated for completion in 2016. Due to lengthy delays and issues with the renovations, this is a long-awaited announcement for residents.
Construction Hiring Strong, New Report Shows Increases in all States
According to an analysis by the Associated General Contractors of America of Labor Department data, the construction industry’s hiring activity is strong. 38 states and the District of Columbia report an addition of constructions jobs in November, with 18 states reporting an increase in construction employment between October and November 2019.
