Developers Submit Plans for $100 Million Project in Virginia

Developers have submitted their plans for a new $100 million project in Blacksburg, Va. Current blueprints illustrate the construction of three commercial parcels on the front half of the 20-acre site, each of which will be multiple-stories-tall. The developer, Midtown Redevelopment Partners, has also indicated that they will construct an event space, a plaza, and a park which will be given to the town.

Home Builder Plans 50,000 SF Office Space in Texas

Sorrell’s & Co., a Texas-based home builder, is planning to convert the landmark Bank of America Building in downtown Waco, Texas into office space. The project is expected to give members increased work and collaboration space by providing more than 50,000 square-feet of office space. The project’s estimated timeline and construction costs are currently unknown.


Construction of New Public Building Waiting for Approval in South Carolina

The Justice and Public Safety Committee in Berkeley County, S.C. will soon vote to approve the construction of a new Forensic Services building for the county Sheriff’s Office. The building will provide the county more than 1,800 square-feet of evidence space as well as additional technology for the county’s laboratory. The project’s estimated timeline and construction costs are currently unknown.

D.C. Metro Headquarters to be Turned Into Mixed-Use Office Building

The Washington Metro Area Transit Authority has selected a joint team of developers to lease its headquarters once the group vacates in 2022. The developers plan to gut and remodel the aging Jackson Graham Building and add three additional floors, as well as line the bottom floor with retail. The developers paid $130 million for the 99-year lease.

HALL Structured Finance Secures $140 Million to Construct Four Hotels in Orlando

Dallas-based HALL Structured Finance has announced that they have secured a new construction lien totaling $140 million to construct four new hotels in Orlando, Fla. near Walt Disney World Resort. The four hotels will contain a total of 997 rooms and will be completed by Q4 in 2020. The hotels will share a five-story parking garage, surface parking, and a sports court.
