According to Gensler Chicago, Columbia College Chicago was missing a true hub for students to interact and collaborate.

The new Student Center at Columbia College Chicago serves as a distinctive, inspiring center of activity where more than 7,000 students can work, play, eat and relax.

The new building is designed as a flexible creation space where students of all majors and disciplines can have access to dance studios, meeting rooms, state-of-the-art digital maker labs, a gritty workshop, and practice spaces. The building is planned to accommodate social outdoor spaces and a large, multi-purpose event space.
