A New Pendant Light by Foscarini with Tactile Details

What?

A new suspension lamp designed by L+R Palomba.

What sparked the idea for this new lamp?

The new suspension lamp designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba for Foscarini is the result of experimentation on surfaces and their relationship with light.

The research of Ludovica and Roberto Palomba and their long collaboration with Foscarini, which began with blown glass, its tactile, aesthetic and material virtues and history, have led to projects involving the use of different materials, surfaces and finishes, all the way to the irregular image of Bump.

How does the lamp work?

A true experience of interaction with light comes to life in a lamp with a relaxed, informal personality. It resembles a dented surface, whose character shifts depending on the choice of colour: from the simple transparent version to the striking gold and petroleum hues, this model adds a vivid touch of character to any setting.

The dome of the shade effectively lights the surfaces below the lamp, making it an ideal choice to place over a table, or to light a worksurface. In the “frost” version, with a satin finish for the translucent dome, the light is beamed downward but also spreads into the surrounding space, for an atmospheric effect; in the two opaque versions, available in gold and petroleum on the outside and white on the inside, the light is only aimed downward.

The three different finishes and the great versatility of insertion in any context make Bump ideal in domestic settings as well as contract applications.
